Migration is a landscape project that included research trips into the Sonoran, Chihuahuan and Mojave deserts in 2018 & 2019. Annika was interested in the political atmosphere at the border and was also learning about different plant species moving north across landscapes due to climate change. This project was the focus of her Residency at the Joshua Tree Highlands Artist Residency. There she made two three dimensional linen weaves in ash frames, which were shown at the Joshua Tree Art Gallery.

As a body of work Migration includes drone footage, photography, weavings and sculpture. In 2021 one of the weavings and a short documentary film about her art practice was shown at the San Bernardino Museum in Orange County, California.

Please inquire about commissioning a Migration weave, or purchasing a plant print.
