The Kelp Project
An ongoing research and development project. Part one included harvesting kelp with Stonington Kelp Co., followed by experiments and mock ups, resulting in a woven work.
Alongside kelp research and development, a series of workshops were hosted at Liberty Labs Foundation in 2023. Members of the foundation taught hands on making skills to youth from Red Hook Initiative over the course of six weeks and four different projects.
Migration: Kelp Project & Workshops is made possible by New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. It is also a sponsored project of New York Foundation for the Arts.
