Annika’s practice is focused on designing custom houses, making art objects and furniture. She has studios in both Brooklyn, New York and Midcoast Maine.
Annika completed her Architecture degree with First Class Honors in Australia in 2007. In 2010 she relocated to New York City to work for Tod Williams Billie Tsien. Thereafter she worked with Studio Joseph in museum and exhibition design, and Leroy Street Studio in residential architecture and interiors, as well as community engaged projects.
Growing up in rural South Australia, she forged a strong relationship to the land, which is something she is always returning to through her work. Her interest in weaving and craft is an homage to her grandparents.
Her honors thesis, for which she received a High Distinction, studied the intersection between art and architecture. It was an important entry point into cross-disciplinary work. During her education she was the recipient of The Royal Australian Institute of Architects Prize, The University of South Australia Architecture Program Prize, The Woods Bagot Scholarship in Architecture, a Chancellors Commendation and is on the Deans Merit List.
